The CPL at UNSW is hosting dancer and choreographer Adam Linder to deliver a lecture and workshop focusing on his ‘Choreographic Services’. This series hires the artist to clients by the hour to perform specific tasks, Adam will be performing these works for the 20th Biennale of Sydney at the MCA.
Adam Linder’s practice spans dance works made for theatre and ‘Choreographic Services’, which can be hired by the hour and are not bound to any one context. With this format Linder examines the real-time necessity for choreography to be both ‘at work’ and publicly effective – problematising the institutional and economic aspects of performance in the process. In Sydney as part of the 20th Biennale of Sydney, he will give a lecture on his work and lead group discussions in this 4-hour workshop.
